The motion fights back against the lawsuit initiated by the state party targeting local grassroots county Republicans.

Moorhead, MN: Today, the Republicans of Clay County argued a motion against the Republican Party of Minnesota, advancing a counter-suit in a dispute over the voting rights of local members and for control of the Republicans of Clay County organization.

”We intend to hold accountable the politicians who have caused severe harm to the victims, restore all of our members’ rights, and seek full justice for the outrageous conduct of these political operatives,” stated Edwin Hahn, Chair of the Republicans of Clay County BPOU.

The legal claims are a response to the Republican Party of Minnesota’s vexatious lawsuit against Edwin Hahn and Republicans of Clay County filed on January 4, 2023.

“A handful of Party elites wanted to make this case about the Chair, while in reality, the dispute over chairmanship was intended to defame Edwin Hahn, and distract from the real issues at hand, which are the unlawful and gross misconduct of MNGOP Chair David Hann, Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach’s employee Calvin Benson, and their co-conspirators, Rodney Johnson, Laurie Christianson, and Katie Koppelman.”

The counter-suit accuses the Republican Party of Minnesota of Theft, Conspiracy and Defamation, for alleged violations of Minnesota Statute §604.14; including multiple counts of intentional tort. Search MCRO Court File No.: 14-CV-23-51. Download the full complaint here.
